Clippings 5.0.1 released!

A minor update to Clippings 5 is now available from Mozilla Add-ons and the AE Creations website.  This update fixes a few known issues, as listed below.

If you already have Clippings installed, it will be upgraded for you if automatic extension updates are enabled. Otherwise, open Extension Manager (Tools → Add-ons), then right-click on the entry for Clippings in the list of installed extensions and choose Find Updates.

What's New
  • Bug fix: In Clippings Manager, cannot move folder by drag and drop (issue #55)
  • Bug fix: The General tab panel of the extension preferences dialog is blank; this was occurring for the Finnish locale only (issue #60)

Things You Should Know About

Clippings now requires Firefox/Thunderbird version 31 or newer.  If you have an older version of either application, you must upgrade it first to install and enjoy the new features of Clippings 5.

Users of Firefox Beta and Firefox Developer Edition: Clippings is not yet compatible with multi-process browser tabs (a.k.a. Electrolysis or e10s) in Firefox.  If you require compatibility with e10s, and are willing to try out beta-quality software, install the 5.1 beta release of Clippings.  Otherwise, turn off multi-process tabs, or open a non-e10s browser window to continue using Clippings.

Help and Support

Questions and comments about Clippings should be directed to the AE Creations Help and Support forums, hosted on Google Groups.

Hi guys,

First of all, it's great you continue developing Clippings. I've been using it since 2008 and it's very stable.

If there is any chance you can develop an extension for other browsers and then have the ability to export / import between those extensions? It would be great isn't it?!

Cheers,
Alexis

Hi guys,

First of all, great job with the Clippings add-on on Firefox, really stable and a great help. I've been using it for years now.

I want to let you know that it has helped me a lot developing my career, and would like to know if you are going to make it available for other browsers?, specifically Google Chrome, they do not have any extensions that's even remotely close to your add-on.

You can contact me at josh_leonn@icloud.com with any questions, or any information on this.

Thanks in advance,

Josh
