Sync Clippings Helper 1.1 update now available

A new version of the Sync Clippings Helper app has been released, and is now available for download from the AE Creations website.

If you already have the older version installed, a notification popup will appear when Firefox is running, letting you know that you can download the update.

The Sync Clippings Helper notification popup, as it appears if using Clippings version 6.2.8 or newer.

You can download the update anytime from the Sync Clippings Helper page on the AE Creations website.

What's New

Version 1.1 adds support for Clippings for Thunderbird 6.0 or newer. If you're synchronizing your clippings between Firefox and Thunderbird, you'll want this update.

Previously, Sync Clippings Helper wasn't necessary if you were only syncing between instances of Thunderbird, and not Firefox -- but it's now required if you have Clippings for Thunderbird version 6.0.

How to Install

Download the Sync Clippings Helper setup program to a file location on your system (for example, the Downloads folder). Then double-click on it to launch setup.

On Windows 10, the Windows Defender SmartScreen dialog may appear when launching the setup program. Please be assured that it is safe to proceed with the installation. To allow the setup program to run, click More Info, then Run Anyway.

The Windows Defender SmartScreen dialog may appear when launching the Sync Clippings Helper setup program.

Once the setup program is started, follow the on-screen instructions to install or update Sync Clippings Helper.

As always, questions and comments should be posted to the AE Creations Help and Support forums.

If you've been trying out the previous beta releases, uninstall Clippings for Thunderbird first before installing this release candidate. Do NOT install this release candidate over a beta version -- this is an unsupported upgrade scenario, and will result in errors.

Before uninstalling, back up your clippings if you have any data you want to keep.

This only affects users who have installed Clippings for Thunderbird 6.0 beta releases 1, 2 or 3.  Upgrading from Clippings for Thunderbird versions 5.6 or 5.7 will be supported.
