Check Links 0.99 released!

A preview release of Check Links, the new Thunderbird extension from AE Creations that lets you review the web addresses of all links in a draft message before sending, is now available for testers, early adopters and translators. This preview release is very close to what you'll find in the upcoming first public release.

Features

  • Choose how you want to review the links in your draft email. Use Message View to review the links one by one in a message preview. Or select Table View where you can review all of them at a glance. 
  • Check Links can also detect link placeholders in your email, allowing you to replace them with a proper hyperlink. 

How to Get It

To install this preview release, head over to the Check Links page on the AE Creations website, where instructions on how to add it to Thunderbird are provided. Please note that it's not yet available on the Add-ons for Thunderbird website.

If you've installed any of the previous beta releases, you'll be automatically updated to this release if automatic extension updates are turned on. 

Check Links is compatible with Thunderbird 128 and newer.

Read Next 1.5 preview release 1 released!

Read Next 1.5 is an upcoming new version of the reading list extension for Firefox from AE Creations. This preview release is being made available for testers and early adopters craving the latest and greatest -- and while it's the most stable yet, testers should expect to run into the occasional bug.

(What's a preview release? Unlike a release candidate, preview releases may still have some minor issues, and localizations may be incomplete.)

What's New

  • Links can now be renamed. To rename a link, right-click in the reading list sidebar and then select Rename in the context menu
  • Improvements to navigation and scrolling of the reading list using the keyboard
  • New links are now highlighted in the sidebar when they're added
  • When showing only unread links in the reading list, links will now be automatically shown or hidden as their unread status changes when clicked or navigating to them in the browser

How to Get It

To install this preview release, head over to the Read Next 1.5 preview release 1 page on GitHub. Look for the link to readnext-1.5pr1.xpi, then click on it and follow the prompts to add it to Firefox.

Panic Button 5.0 preview release 2 released!

Panic Button 5.0 is an upcoming new version of the Firefox extension from AE Creations that hides your browser windows from prying eyes with a click of a button. This second preview release comes with a bug fix and is being made available for testers and early adopters craving the latest and greatest.

Read on to learn what's new in version 5.0, and how to get it!

What's New

  • Improvements to some of the built-in Panic Button icons
  • Enhanced keyboard navigation in the extension preferences page, Change Icon dialog, and the Restore Session page
  • Other behind-the-scenes improvements to ensure compatibility with future versions of Firefox
  •  Fixed in 5.0pre2  A blue dot appears below the Panic Button toolbar button icon, and an extra menu item in the toolbar button context menu, indicating that there are there are permissions that needs approval even though there actually aren't any

Things You Should Know About

  • Panic Button 5.0 requires Firefox 115 or newer. 
  • The version number of this preview release will appear as 4.998.2 in Add-ons Manager.
  • Panic Button won't work if Firefox is set to "Never remember history" in Privacy & Security settings.
