A release candidate of Clippings for Thunderbird 6.1 is now available for testers and early adopters craving the latest and greatest! Unless there are any last-minute showstopper bugs, this may become the official release.
Read on to learn what's new in version 6.1, and how to get the release candidate.
What's New
- Improvements to Clippings Manager. On Windows, Clippings Manager now remembers its window size and position
- Improvements to support for multiple displays on Windows. Clippings popup windows and dialogs will now be positioned within the Thunderbird window from which they were opened, instead of always centered on the primary display. This feature is experimental on macOS and Linux, where it is turned off by default.
- New option to skip backup reminders if there were no changes to your clippings since the last backup
- In Clippings Manager, the Details Pane can be shown or hidden by pressing CTRL+D (Command+D on macOS)
- User interface improvements to more closely match the rest of Thunderbird, as well as improved support for Dark Mode system themes on macOS and Windows (requires Thunderbird 91 or newer)
- Bug fix: First-time backup dialog doesn't regain focus after Save As dialog dismissed (issue #105)
Compatibility
Clippings for Thunderbird 6.1 is compatible with Thunderbird version 78 and the latest beta release of version 91.
