Clippings for Thunderbird 6.2 release candidate 1 released!

This is the first release candidate of the next version of Clippings, the Thunderbird extension that lets you save frequently-entered text for later pasting into messages. Unless there are any last-minute showstopper bugs, this may become the official release of Clippings for Thunderbird 6.2.

Read on to learn more about what's new in this new version of Clippings for Thunderbird, and how to get it.

What's New

  • Improvements to keyboard navigation in windows and dialogs (issue #127)
  • Improved reliability of undoing and redoing actions on a synced clipping or folder after reloading the Synced Clippings folder in Clippings Manager (issue #126)
  • Minor visual refresh for buttons and dialogs

Compatibility

Clippings for Thunderbird 6.2 is compatible with Thunderbird version 91 and the newly-released version 102.

How to Get It

IMPORTANT! If you're already using Clippings and want to try the release candidate, back up your clippings first before upgrading.

If you've installed the previous beta release of Clippings for Thunderbird 6.2, uninstall it first before installing this release candidate.

To install this release candidate, head over to the Clippings for Thunderbird 6.2 release candidate 1 page on GitHub. Look for the link to clippings_for_thunderbird-6.2rc1-tb.xpi, then right-click on it and select Save Link As, then choose a folder location on your system (for example, the Desktop). Then follow these step-by-step instructions from the Mozilla Support website to install Clippings in Thunderbird.
